We're excited to welcome Morgan Kasenchak to SPZ Legal. A highly skilled transactional attorney, Morgan brings significant experience advising companies at all stages and across a range of industries, with a focus on intellectual property and commercial transactions.
Morgan's arrival strengthens our commercial practice and expands our ability to help startups, emerging companies, and established businesses navigate agreements and strategic decisions that support their growth.
Eight Years of Technology Transactions Experience
Before joining SPZ Legal, Morgan practiced for eight years as a technology transactions attorney at two leading law firms. She began her legal career at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia before joining Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
During that time, Morgan developed extensive experience advising clients on intellectual property licensing, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and key business and product development decisions. She understands both the legal details of a transaction and the broader commercial objectives behind it.
Morgan's experience will be particularly valuable to SPZ Legal clients negotiating agreements involving technology, intellectual property, customers, vendors, service providers, and strategic partners. She brings a thoughtful, practical, and business-minded approach to helping companies manage risk while continuing to innovate.
A Foundation in Business, Technology, and Journalism
Morgan earned her J.D. and Business Law Certificate from Berkeley Law School. While at Berkeley, she interned with Sony PlayStation and Gusto, gaining firsthand exposure to the legal and business considerations facing technology companies. She was also an active member of the Berkeley Business Law Journal.
Morgan also co-founded the Startup Law Initiative (SLI), a pro bono program designed to lower legal barriers to entry for low-income and diverse startup founders. The initiative provides a community of law students with the opportunity to learn basic transactional skills and gain startup law experience early in their law school careers. Through SLI, students team up with law firms to provide free legal incorporation services to qualifying founders and local entrepreneurs.
Before law school, Morgan studied journalism at Drexel University and worked as a Criminal Division Assistant at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Her varied background contributes to the clear communication, careful analysis, and practical perspective she brings to her legal practice.

Outside of work, Morgan enjoys reading, watching television, and spending time with her cats. She also loves trying new restaurants and traveling with friends and family. Whether discovering a new destination or finding a great place to eat closer to home, Morgan brings curiosity and enthusiasm to her life outside the office.
